Dan was born in Warrensburg and is the 6th generation born in Johnson County and the 7th generation to live here. He and his wife, Toni live in Warrensburg where he owns a small home building and development company. He is passionate about entrepreneurship and helping small businesses move forward. He believes that, in an era of bad investments, the best investment we can make is in our kids and their future. And as a resident of Warrensburg, he has seen time and time again the importance of the University of Central Missouri to our local economy, as well as our state as a whole. He will work to ensure UCM’s partnership with the state is strong for many years to come.  He also understands how vital the partnership with Whiteman Air Force Base is to Johnson and Pettis counties. He has seen entrepreneurs that have ties to Whiteman own many successful small businesses that prosper. Politically, Dan believes that you know better how to run your life than the government does.

Dan attended Missouri Boys State in 1989 and was elected to the House.   He is the past Chairman of the Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce, a current member of Military Affairs Committee, Base Community Council, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and a past board member on Johnson County Economic Development Corporation. He is licensed Realtor and a long time supporter of Camp Valor Outdoors. He graduated from Kemper Military School and College and attended Central Missouri State University now UCM. He enjoys hunting, fishing and other outdoors activities.
